Top 5 Blogs Java EE developers should follow

One reason for Java's great success as a programming language is that it has dominated the Enterprise space. Earlier J2EE used to be the popular platform, but now we have a more modern and improved Java EE platform, with the latest release of Java EE 7. Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 7 provides new features that include enhanced HTML5 support, increases developer productivity, and further improves how enterprise demands can be met. One of the biggest advantages of Java EE 7 is the reduction of boilerplate code.

Java EE 7 developers will write less boilerplate code, have better support for the latest Web applications and frameworks, and gain access to enhanced scalability and richer, simpler functionality, and enterprises will benefit from improved scalability and new features that enable portable batch processing.

One of the biggest challenges of a Java EE developer or any programmer is to keep himself updated with the latest technological development in this area. Blogs are a good source to learn new technologies and keep yourself updated.

With that view in mind, I am sharing some of the best blogs on Java EE space. I personally follow these blogs and they are written by authorities on Java EE. Personalities like Arun Gupta, Adam Bien don't need any introduction.

And, If you are new to the Java EE world then I also recommend you go through these best Java EE courses to learn Java EE in a better and more structured way. This is one of the best and up-to-date courses to learn Java EE online.

5 Best Blogs to Learn Java EE

Without wasting any more time, here is my list of top 5 good blogs for Java EE developers. These blogs are a good source of information and what's happening on Java EE 7. You can find tutorials, samples, feature introduction,s and personal insight of some well-known authors.

1. Arun Gupta's Blog

Arun Gupta is a popular name in the Java community. He is Director of Developer Advocacy at Red Hat and focuses on JBoss Middleware. As a founding member of the Java EE team at Sun Microsystems, he spread his love for technology all around the world.

You can also found lots of Java EE 7 samples and information on Glassfish, JBoss, and Red Hat technologies.

2. Adam Bien's Weblog

One of the first few blogs I suggest to any J2EE or Java EE developer is Adam Bien's weblog. Adam Bien is another popular name in the Java community, he is also the author of Real World Java EE Patterns Rethinking Best Practices, and Real World Java EE Night Hacks—Dissecting The Business Tier, a couple of good books in Java EE.

He is also a Java Champion, NetBeans Dream Team Founding Member, Oracle ACE Director, Java Developer of the Year 2010, and was chosen by attendees of my sessions as JavaOne 2009 and double 2011 Rock Star. You will find lots of Java and JavaEE information in his blog including Java EE 7.

33.  Antonio Goncalves Blog

Java EE Blogs to learn

6. The Aquarium

This is suggested by Reza Rahman himself. In his own word "The nice thing about The Aquarium is that we try to feature a lot of folks that would otherwise probably not get much exposure." The Aquarium is primarily a news site from the Glassfish community. Given the lack of good content on Java EE, I guess following this single blog will give the best of the Java EE world.

7. Markus Eisele's Blog

Earlier I missed Markus' blog, Enterprise Software Development with Java, but thanks to Bennet Schulz, I am adding it now. Markus is a Developer Advocate at Red Hat and focuses on JBoss Middleware. He is working with Java EE servers from different vendors for more than 14 years and talks about his favorite topics around Java EE at conferences all over the world.

His blog is about software development for the enterprise. Focus on Java EE and more general Java platforms. You'll read a lot about Java EE, Integration, AS7, WildFly, EAP, and other technologies. He is also a Java Champion and well known in the community.

That's all on this list of good Java EE blogs. Though there are many more blogs, which are providing good tutorials, personal experience, and examples on Java EE technologies, sometimes it's difficult to follow a lot of people.

All of these blogs are written by people who have authority and experience in the Java EE space, and they are also constantly updated to including new editions like Java EE 7 and 8. Nevertheless, if you think, there is some good Java EE blog, which is not on this list, then feel free to suggest.
