Earlier, I have shared the best JavaScript coursesbooks, and websites to learn JavaScript and in this article, I am going to share my 3-point formula which is the best way to learn JavaScript. It involves joining a JavaScript course, followed by reading a book and then doing a couple of projects to gain real-world experience. Along the way, I will also share resources like books, courses, tutorials, and JavaScript project ideas for beginners to build in 2023. You can use this approach and recommended resources to learn JavaScript from scratch in 2023.

JavaScript started as a scripting language to assist Java but in the last 25 years, JavaScript has become the most important programming of web development. First, it took over the client-side development, and later, with the introduction of Node.js, JavaScript became one of the top languages in server-side development as well.

Today, over 90% of websites are using JavaScript in one way or another. All the major frontend frameworks and libraries are JavaScript-based. For example, Angular and React

Moreover, Node.js is heavily used in the backend along with the most popular databases such as MongoDB and SQL.

So to become a professional frontend, backend, or full-stack web developer, you need to learn JavaScript. There are several courses, books, and tutorials on the internet which you can choose from to learn JavaScript. In this article, we will list the top 3 ways to learn JavaScript in 2023.

What are the best ways to learn JavaScript in 2023?

There are 3 best ways to learn JavaScript from scratch - join the best JavaScript online courses, read an in-depth JavaScript book, and build a couple of JavaScript projects to practice all the concepts you have learned by joining courses and reading books. I have followed this approach and learned many programming language and frameworks including JavaScript.

While some people argue that whether starting with a JavaScript book is a better idea than joining a JavaScript course, in my experience, I found that starting with an online course is a better idea because JavaScript is very vast and it can take months to learn JavaScript from books.

Instead, if you join a course you will learn 20% most important JavaScript concepts and features which are used 80% of the time in a couple of weeks.

Online courses also offer active learning because you will be using your eyes, ears, and mind as compared to just your eyes and mind while reading books. It also helps to learn faster when you see an instructor doing things in front of your eyes which is the biggest advantage of learning JavaScript from online courses.
