Best Computer Programming and Sci-Fi Movies Programmers

So, what are we waiting for, here are some of the best movies you can watch on computer programming, technology, and startup life:

1) Inception (2010)
One of the best sci-fi movie I have watched in recent time. It reminds me a bit of the Matrix, except in people's minds. I don't quite think it lives up to its hype, but it's definitely a good movie.Leonardo DiCaprio plays a thief who steals corporate secrets from sleeping minds. Now he must be the first to pull off the reverse: planting an idea in exchange for his freedom. You must watch this movie on Blu-ray.

2) The Social Network (2010)
This movie is a story about the founders of the social-networking website, Facebook. One of the best movies, I have watched in the last a couple of years. You just need to be a little bit patient though, start is not so exciting, but once you watch 5 or 10 minutes you will either love it or just switch it off. I have friends who have watched this movie more than 10 times already.

3) 23
A 1998 movie which is a must watch for programmers. The plot of this movie (23) is based on the true story. It is about a group of young computer hackers from Hannover, Germany. The movie ’23 is directed by Hans-Christian Schmid.

4)  Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999)
This movie is about the early rise of Microsoft and Apple Computer. It tells the story of early careers and professional lives of several key people, the movie depicts several events that led to the personal computer revolution. The main characters are men that most have heard of at some time or another and include Steve Jobs (Noah Wyle) and Steve Wozniak (Joey Slotnick) on the Apple side and Bill Gates (Anthony Michael Hall) and Steve Ballmer (John DiMaggio) at Microsoft.

5)  The Matrix (1999)
This was one of the first Computer programming sorts of the movie which I watched on my teen-age. It was also the one which inspired me a lot. Now I have watched all three Matrix movies i.e. The Matrix Trilogy but this is simply the best.

6) The Matrix Reloaded (2003)
I love the whole Matrix series. In this movie, Neo, Trinity and Morpheus lead revolt against Machine Army unleashing their arsenal of extraordinary skills & weaponry against systematic forces of repression and exploitation.

7) A Beautiful Mind (2001)
One of the best Sci-Fi movie I have watched. It has also got 4 Academy or Oscar Awards. This winner of 4 Oscars, including Best Picture, stars Russell Crowe as a brilliant mathematician on the brink of international acclaim who becomes entangled in a mysterious conspiracy.

8)  Discloser – (1994)
Disclosure is an excellent film, both for computer hacking and for the thrill of corporate espionage.  A brilliant computer scientist gets passed over for a promotion, which goes to a love interest from his past.  Michael Douglas and Demi Moore are splendid as this twisted plot of deceit and betrayal keeps audiences riveted for 90 minutes

9)  Antitrust (2001)
This film is about a computer programmer's working life. In this movie, A computer programmer's dream job at a hot Portland-based firm turns nightmarish when he discovers his boss has a secret and ruthless means of dispatching anti-trust problems.

10) The Matrix Revolutions (2003)
In this file of Matrix series, The human city of Zion defends itself against the massive invasion of the machines as Neo fights to end the war on another front while also opposing the rogue Agent Smith.

Untraceable is a 2008 mystery thriller about a crazed young computer geek who becomes the deranged moderator of his own “Kill With Me” live internet feed where he displays new victims being slowly tortured to death.

The more hits he gets at his site, the faster the people featured on his webcam die. FBI agent Jennifer Marsh is tasked with hunting down a seemingly untraceable serial killer who posts live videos of his victims on the Internet. As time runs out, the cat and mouse chase becomes more personal.
